Information Literacy and Library Instruction at Giovatto Library
Information literacy is critical to student success and lifelong learning.
As you are preparing for Winter Session and the Spring semester, faculty are invited to offer an information literacy/library research session for their classes.
Library research/information literacy sessions for classes are available 7 days a week, including evenings and weekends, by appointment. These sessions can be customized to respond to faculty requests and course assignments, etc. Although these sessions are generally offered at the Library, librarians can be scheduled to come to your classroom.
Instruction for off-campus courses is available via ITV, Skype, Webex, or conference call.
In addition to class sessions, several series of research clinics — Library Basics, Getting to Know the FDU Online Library, Getting to Know Your Library Databases, Career Research at the Library, and Library Research Clinics on specific subject areas — are offered on a walk-in basis at the Library every semester. One-on-one sessions may be scheduled with a Giovatto librarian by appointment ahead of time only.

In addition, series of Online Library Research Guides and video tutorials have been developed by the Giovatto reference librarians.
